Ben Carson sheds dramatic South Florida home

Located in West Palm Beach, Fla. the Carsons’ former home is a Mediterranean-style villa with marble flooring.

The property’s perks include an upgraded chef’s kitchen.

Outside, there’s a patio and a pool.

He may have lost his White House bid, but hey — at least Ben Carson had better luck with another home.

Carson — a neurosurgeon, former Republican presidential candidate and current US secretary of Housing and Urban Development — sold his five-bedroom pad at 10942 Egret Pointe Lane in West Palm Beach, Fla., for $920,000, according to Mansion Global.

The buyer, according to Town & Country, is Washington, DC, real-estate executive Stephen Lustgarten.

But the site adds that the sale had a bit of an unexpected hitch, though it’s since been resolved: Leaks in the roof caused a mold issue, which required the entire roof to be redone before the closing.

Despite that setback, Carson and his wife, Lacena, made a slight profit: They bought the 6,155-square-foot spread from the late John Rooney, whose family owns the Pittsburgh Steelers, for $775,000 in 2013, says the Real Deal.
