Police have arrested four teenage boys who assaulted a 79-year-old woman during a home invasion last week in Del City.
“I don’t know why anyone would want to hurt me,” said Kay, whose last name police did not release for safety reasons. “I’m always good to everyone.”
Kay’s entire face and neck is beat up, and she has stitches and a broken bone. She even suffered brain bleeding.
“It hurts when I move very much,” she said. “My daughter cried when she saw how I looked.”
Del City police officials said the four teenagers broke into her home Friday night and attacked her just to get into her car.
“I heard someone banging on the patio door,” Kay said. “I said, ‘No, you can’t come in.’”
She doesn’t remember the teenagers hitting her. She only remembers waking up the next morning on the floor.
“They are bad people,” Kay said.
Police believe Kay was being targeted. Someone also burglarized her last year.
One of the 16-year-old boys arrested in connection with the violent break-in was a suspect last year, but police did not have enough evidence to charge him then.
“You are not safe by yourself. I always thought I was,” Kay said.
KOCO 5 has chosen not to release the four teenagers’ names because they have not been charged.
Kay’s family members are with her now, and she has been staying elsewhere. They are moving Kay out as soon as possible.
